Detectives investigating an incident in which a man was assaulted and cars were damaged in Dewsbury and Batley have made three arrests.

Kirklees CID are continuing enquiries today and are continuing to appeal for witnesses after an incident in the car park on Cliffe Street, Dewsbury at about 1am on Thursday May 12.

A 21-year-old Dewsbury man was assaulted in the incident and his black Honda Civic car was also damaged by a group of men.

Before the alleged assault, it is believed the attackers had followed the victim’s Honda Civic from the Shell Petrol Station on Batley Road, in two cars at about 12.30am.

The 21-year-old was not seriously injured in the resulting assault, and several vehicles were damaged in the incidents.

“Three Batley men aged 20, 20 and 22 have now been arrested in connection with our enquiries and cars have been recovered for examination.
