A 24-year-old man was attacked with a baseball bat and sword before his car was stolen in what police say was a “targeted” robbery.

The victim was driving on Valley Road, Liversedge, at around 3.20pm yesterday (Tuesday) when he was blocked in by two other vehicles.

He was then attacked by a group wielding a baseball bat and a sword, before managing to escape on foot with minor injuries.

His vehicle, an Audi saloon, was then stolen and later found in Bradford.

Police say a number of arrests have been made following the incident and one suspect vehicle, a Black Audi A3, has been recovered and police are now looking for the other car, a Red Audi A3.

Any witnesses or anyone with information is asked to contact Kirklees CID via 101.
