Man wielding a meat cleaver raids Cleckheaton shop

A balaclava clad man wielding a meat cleaver raided a Cleckheaton shop over the weekend.

The incident happened on Sunday, January 3, when the suspect walked into the shop in Centurion Way and demanded cash.

The female assistant opened the safe and removed a cash box. The suspect then ordered the assistant to open the till and emptied the contents into the box before leaving on foot.

The suspect is described as white and of stocky build. He is believed to be in his mid 20s to early 30s and was wearing a balaclava and dark clothing.
