ST ANDREW’S METHODIST CHURCH - Street prayers this week are for Redlands Close.Sunday: 10.30am, morning worship led by the Rev Alison Crookes, 6pm, evening worship led by the Rev Barbara Fairburn. PROBUS - 60 members were present as vice-president Roy Gosney introduced the speaker, Mr Phillip Tordoff. His subject was buses of yesteryear. He gave a comprehensive illustrated talk about the trams, buses and trolleybuses operating locally over the last century.

DEWSBURY AND DISTRICT RAMBLERS - On May 16, 12 walkers did a circular walk starting at Ledsham, walking to Ledston then on to Fairburn Ings. They then went through woodland and field paths back to the start of the walk. Barbara Harrison and Mollie Jackson led. On May 18 the planned walk was cancelled due to bad weather. Eight walkers did a local replacement walk starting at Red House, Gomersal, walking towards Hartshead on to the Greenway. Tomorrow: A Calderdale Caper, this is a B walk. Please meet at the Link Road, Dewsbury for 9.30am. Jeane Balmforth will lead. Sunday: Harcliff Hill – this is a change to the syllabus. This is a B-plus-walk.
