Students had their horizons broadened at a Mirfield Free Grammar careers event.

Seventy-four international, national and local employers took part in the event on March 16.

Sixth formers were able to speak to representatives of ITV, Leeds United FC, the Armed Forces, Kirkwood Hospice and many others.

The school’s careers and guidance officer Frances Burkinshaw said: “The event was fantastic. Companies are saying they are so glad they took the time to come.

“And students have said ‘I didn’t know I could do this job, I didn’t know I could have this opportunity’.”
