Time to cast your vote for community and business heroes
During January, over a hundred different retailers, business, organisations and events were put forward from over a thousand public nominations – with the winners to be announced at a black-tie Awards Evening on Saturday, April 1 at the Holiday Inn at Brighouse.
Richard Hartley, of MyMirfield, says whittling down the candidates was a particularly tough task.

“In the end the decisions became easier as many of those with the most number of nominations also had the most community-based reasons attached to them.
“We wish to thank everyone who nominated.
“And we would encourage everyone who didn’t make the shortlist, to keep up the good work for 2017.”
Last year saw Millie & Bertie’s, Salvia, Mirfield Word, Katie Philpott’s School of Dance, Derek Highe, Vibe Hair Design, Mirfield Christmas Appeal and the Royal British Legion walk away with the awards.
