A NEW team is getting to grips with the task of promoting Morley as a “vibrant and lively place to live, work and visit”.

The Morley Town Centre Management Board has recently reformed under the chairmanship of Coun Robert Finnigan (MBI, Morley North) and now has members including city councillors, town councillors and members of the Morley Chamber of Trade and Commerce.

A spokesman for the board said: “The Morley Town Centre Management Board is working hard to promote the expansion of Morley by offering support to local traders, landlords and the community.”

At a meeting on Friday Keith Robinson, president of the Morley Chamber of Trade and Commerce announced the appointment of Rachael Kennedy as a town events manager.

Board member Coun Judith Elliott said: “We have every confidence in Rachael who comes with a glowing reference from the White Rose Centre where she previously managed the Learning Centre.”

Rachael’s role will be to coordinate and develop Morley’s popular annual events programme.
