A lucky shopper is preparing to jet off to Scandinavia after winning the top prize in competition.

Julie Shore, from Mirfield, won the Swipe a Surprise at Birstall IKEA, which was founded in Sweden.

She bagged a coveted four-night trip to Stockholm for scooping the competition’s top prize.

Scott Renshaw, IKEA store manager, said:“We were delighted to present Julie with her prize.

“Swedishness is a very big part of our IKEA culture so we are delighted that we can share this Swedish experience with one of our customers.

“We run the Swipe a Surprise campaign four times a year to reward our most loyal IKEA FAMILY members.”

Julie will spend four nights in the vibrant Swedish capital, along with her husband and two friends.

The Swipe a Surprise competition runs throughout the year.

It is open to IKEA Family members, the company’s loyalty membership scheme.

The loyalty scheme is free and open to all customers, it also includes product insurance and offers in store and in the restaurant.

Customers who swipe their card at the checkout in store will be entered in the draw while the competition is active.

Other prizes for winning the Swipe a Surprise competition include £1,000 IKEA gift card, a Swedish dinner party and a family photo shoot.

There was only one trip to Sweden prize on offer per store during the latest round of competitions.
