Surprised by criticism

In reply to the letter from James Taylor (Democracy in action, Letterbox, September 23) I thank him for the congratulations, but I am surprised at part of his criticism. I accept he disagrees with my description of the Conservative councillors (note not voters as he suggested) as a ‘ragbag’ but don’t believe it was that offensive. If they were offended I can only believe they have very thin skins.

I would also like to point out that two is not several and the swear words I used were totally appropriate and transmittable before the 9 o’clock watershed.

No, the criticism I am surprised at, as I am convinced many Conservatives would agree with me, is my criticism of the largesse of the Common Agricultural Policy.
