They also beat Batley 36-10 in their first league game.

The Rams were well pleased with an attendance of 1,222 for last Sunday’s Cup tie.

Chairman Mark Sawyer said: “We helped Drighlington to lay on free double decker buses for their fans and they had a terrific turn-out as they had promised. The supporters patronised the bars and bought raffle tickets and generally were excellent. Another big feature was that we didn’t have any trouble at all. Drig would certainly be welcome back at Tetley’s Stadium.”
