Overthorpe SC close safety gap on Heckmondwike Town in WRCA Division One

OVERTHORPE SC gained an important win last Saturday to ease away from the relegation zone in West Riding County Amateur League Division One.
A goal in each half from Scott Minto saw Overthorpe seal a 2-1 win at Eastmoor after the sides had been tied at the break.

Victory saw Overthorpe leapfrog third-bottom Eastmoor to move into ninth place and they are now four points clear of second-
bottom Tyersal Reserves with two games in hand.

Heckmondwike Town are one point and one place ahead of Overthorpe after their 2-2 draw at home to Bronte Wanderers.

Andrew Pickles and Joel Pollard struck for the hosts who were on level terms, 1-1 at half-time.

Littletown kept their promotion hopes alives as a 2-1 success at Dudley Hill Rangers saw them move up to fifth place. They now trail second-placed Steeton by nine points but have three games in hand.

Leaders Hunsworth saw their hopes of lifting the Division One League Cup evaporate as they lost their quarter-final 2-0 at Steeton.

Lower Hopton slipped to sixth place in the Premier Division after first-half strikes saw them lose 2-0 at Campion. Hopton trail leaders Wibsey by 11 points but have a game in hand.

Dudley Hill Athletic (Liam Shields) remain second-bottom in Division Two after a 4-1 defeat at Westbrook YMCA.

In Division Three, Lower Hopton Reserves won 4-2 at home to Albion Sports reserves thanks to Ateek Hussain, Chris Keene, Mark Hyde and Chris Ramsden.

Littletown Reserves suffered a 2-0 home defeat against Huddersfield YMCA.
