Celtic duo named in RLC team of the year

DEWSBURY Celtic duo Alex Walmsley and Eddie Kilroy have been named Co-operative Rugby League Conference National dream team.

It caps a terrific year for Walmsley after he was named RLC player of the year at the Co-operative Championships awards ceremony in Manchester a fortnight ago.

The RLC is set to cease in its current form as they will integrate into the new third summer tier (behind the Championship and Championship One) for next season.

Shaw Cross Sharks continue to compete in the National Conference Interim season before they too switch to summer rugby next year.

The Sharks have a Group G game away at West Bowling tomorrow (Saturday), kick-off 2.30pm.

Dewsbury Moor will be aiming to record a fourth straight victory in the Pennine League Championship Division when they travel to lowly Emley Moor (2.30pm).

Thornhill Trojans have swept aside their opening three opponents and will fancy a fourth successive victory when West Bowling A visit Overthorpe Park in Division Two.

Someone’s 100 per cent record will end in Division Six when Hanging Heaton visit fellow high fliers Undercliffe Wildboars.

In Division Seven, Dewsbury Moor A host Emley Moor A, while Thornhill A travel to Selby Warriors A.
