THE Bradford League and Dales Council have joined the Central Yorkshire League in postponing all their cricket matches this weekend.

Bradford League officials made the decision at a meeting at East Bierley on Thursday evening to postpone this weekend’s matches because of rain and sodden pitches.

Saturday’s matches will now be played on Sunday September 9 while Sunday’s Division Two matches has been moved to Sunday July 8.

It is the second blank weekend for the Bradford League after last weekend’s opening round of games were postponed and re-scheduled for Saturday, September 15.

The Dales Council has also, for the second week running, decided to

postpone all fixtures this weekend due to the ongoing poor weather. Matches from Saturday April 28 will be played on Sunday July 8, while last week’s postponed games, scheduled for Saturday April 21, will now be played on Sunday May 27.

The Dales Council committee said that they can’t rearrange any more full fixture programmes.

The Central Yorkshire League postponed this weekend’s games on Thursday. They have decided to extend their season and they will now be played on Saturday September 22.

The CYL games postponed from last weekend (April 21) were moved to Sunday July 22.

The Huddersfield Central League will once again leave the decision on Saturday’s games to mutual agreement between clubs.

Officials hope weather conditions may improve, as they did last Saturday, but to save the administrative difficulties which arise because of last minute decisions, the league have announced a temporary extension to Rule 5Z.

The extension is to the part of the rule which states that an inspection may take place on the morning of the match. To cover matches scheduled for Saturday April 28 only, the league will accept an inspection at an earlier time.

The Huddersfield Central League have awarded teams two points each after all games scheduled for the opening day of the season on Sunday April 22, were postponed.
