Dewsbury Moor were brought back down to earth with a disappointing 60-8 defeat at Doncaster Toll Bar in Pennine Championship One.
Despite James Delaney and Moor MoM Jacob Flathers working hard, Toll Bar exploited gaps in their defence to score at regular intervals.
George Croisdale scored a well-worked try after several players handled to create an opening for the winger.
Jacob Crosswell, making his first team debut at the age of 17, came off the bench to score Moor’s second try when he chipped over the defence and regathered to score a fine individual effort and give the visitors some consolation.
Dewsbury Moor’s second team fielded eight players under the age of 20 and proved to be much fitter than opponents Ryhill Hammers as they won 56-0 in Pennine Division Six.
James Eatherley ran in a hat-trick of tries, with Jordan Pearson and Josh Price crossing for a brace apiece.
Other tries came from Ashley Boddy, Alex Jeffs and Adam Barrett, with Eatherley and Bradley Foster adding eight goals between them.
Half-back Thomas Kaye produced some neat passes to set up several good moves and deservedly take Moor’s MoM.
Shaw Cross Sharks Under-17s produced a sparkling second half display to defeat Dewsbury Celtic 44-10 and complete a derby league double.
Aiden Kay opened the scoring when supporting a break from Karl Cassar and crisp passing from Aiden Harding then put Eddie Macina away to give the Sharks an 8-0 lead.
Celtic hit back with a well worked move which saw Callum Wilkins burst through to score before great passing and support got Brandan French over to give the Sharks a 14-6 half-time lead.
Celtic were first to strike after the break when Max Senior dummied and weaved his way over for a fine try.
The Sharks then began to apply pressure and scored with a superb long range effort from Aiden Harding before Kay and Sam Ottewell added impressive tries.
Prop Declan Ellis chipped and regathered to score and a strong tackle near the Celtic line allowed French pounced for the final try.
Sharks MoM was Jake Townsend, supported by Ellis, Harry Webster, Jay Webster and hardworking Dale Smith.
Aiden Harding provided three try assists with Ben D’Abreu and Matty Spaven working hard in a good defensive display.
The Sharks have no game this weekend but return with a trip to Lock Lane the following week.
