Hightown Jets moved up to second place in Spen Valley League Division One following a terrific 4-2 victory over rivals Idle.

Hightown moved a point clear of their opponents and are a point behind leaders Palestino.

Ryan Lacey, Nathan Clarke, Kyle Kershaw and Dale Motlib struck to secure Hightown’s eighth league win in 11 outings, while C Doherty and M Addi replied for Idle.

Palestino are a point clear at the top and have two games in hand on Hightown, following a 5-2 win at Fox and Hounds.

Dom Simpson bagged a brace for the home side but goals from Zubair Khan, Victo Illich, Ryan Sanson and Ben McCardle secured them all three points.

Marsh remain sixth in the Premier Division following a 4-0 defeat at home to Route 1 Rovers.

Mohammed Ali, Sohail Fiaz (two) and Kamran Khan struck for Route 1, who moved level on 22 points with second placed TVR United.

Route 1 are now just two points behind leaders Girlington and have two games in hand.

The only other game to survive saw Smokin Aces edged out 5-4 by Whitburn as they remain second-bottom.

Ashraf Navsarka and Adam Momaniat bagged a brace apiece for the home side but it wasn’t enough as Whitburn edged to victory thanks to two goals each by Craig Tomas and Kirk Taylor and one from Suliman Alaspi.
