Bradford Bulls coach Francis Cummins delighted to send first team squad to Dewsbury
Bradford Bulls coach Francis Cummins.
BRADFORD Bulls coach Francis Cummins was delighted to be able to send his full first team squad to Dewsbury for Sunday’s pre-season friendly.
The former St John Fisher student, who still has strong links with amateur club Dewsbury Celtic, is looking forward to working with Rams coach Glenn Morrison as part of the partnership between the two clubs.
Those links could see Bradford players being loaned out to the Rams during the Championship season, while Dewsbury will also get to use training facilities used by the Bulls.
Cummins said: “I wanted to bring a team to show the people of Dewsbury some Super League players and it is an important fixture for us as well as Dewsbury.
“Dewsbury people always have an opinion about their rugby team and its important they come support their team.”
Cummins watched Bradford run in eight converted tries to record a 48-6 win in his first game in charge.
Cummins added: “I was glad to able to enjoy my first game and we have set the platform. When we settled we looked really good.
“Some of our young kids will have learned about how physical the championship teams can be and some may get the chance to be sent out here during the season.”
