Heavy Woollen Cup second round draw

Birstall face an intriguing Solly Sports Heavy Woollen Cup second round tie against Huddersfield League side Moorlands on Sunday May 8.

Birstall overcame Buttershaw St Pauls in last Sunday’s delayed first round tie, while Moorlands overcame Gomersal to set up the tasty Leeds Road clash.

Hopton Mills - who received a bye in the first round - have been paired at home to Townville.

There are four outstanding first round ties to be played.

Cup holders Woodlands travel to Shepley on Bank Holiday Monday, with the winners drawn away to New Farnley, while Hanging Heaton make the trip to Lancashire to face Delph and Dobcross.

If Heaton win that tie, captain Gary Fellows will come up against his former club, Wrenthorpe, in the second round.

Yeadon meet Great Preston this Sunday for the right to face Morley, while Hoylandswaine face fellow Huddersfield League side Shelley in a midweek Twenty20 match.
