West End close gap on Premier leaders Lees

WEST End moved to within two points of Heavy Woollen Sunday League Premier Division leaders Thornhill Lees thanks to a 3-1 win over Battyeford (Joe Green) with goals from Paul Smith, Oliver Fisher and Joel Clegg.

Mirfield Town are second in the Championship after Tom Wilks (brace), Anthony Owens and Andrew Young struck in a 4-2 win over Hartshead (Steve Young two).

Birstall St Patricks had Darren McDonald, Jean-Marie Julienne and Scot Minto on target in a 3-0 win at Taylor, while Carriers Arms thrashed bottom side Scholes Athletic 8-0.

Northorpe United earned a 10th straight win in Division One, beating Ravenswharfe (James Fargie) 4-1 with two goals each from Kyle Douglas and Jermaine Davies.

Railway East Ardsley lie second after Harry Moxon (hat-trick), Michael Telford and Shaun Hammill netted in a 5-0 win over Batley Irish Nash.

Richard Naylor (two), Danny Gannon, Tom Ellam, Jason Kerry, Jonny Gault and an own goal saw Rising Sun beat St Ignatius 7-0.

Bay Horse EA had a 5-3 win over Hightown thanks to strikes from Ashley Latto (two), Matthew Bestington, Jonathan Osbourne and Joseph Bedford. Higtown replied though James Crines (two) and Phil Jones.

Mount Pleasant lead Division Two after Ismail Loonat (hat-trick) and Adam Rawat struck in a 4-1 win over Jardy Boys (Dan Stevens).
