Dewsbury Rams will be without key duo James Craven and Tom Lillycrop for Sunday’s crunch Championship play-off clash at Doncaster.

Craven was handed a one match suspension following a brawl in the league clash against Doncaster on August 22, while Lillycrop received the same punishment after being sin-binned at Leigh last week, when Dewsbury fought back from 22-6 down to seal a superb 24-22 victory.

Doncaster’s dual-registration player Danny Cowling was handed a two-match ban for his part in the incident with Craven and he too is out of Sunday’s game.

Austin Buchanan could be in line to replace Craven for Sunday’s play-off game at the Keepmoat Stadium, which will see the losers eliminated.

Coach Glenn Morrison admits he is proud of what his squad has already achieved and now wants another big push in the play-offs.

Morrison said: “Where we have come as a squad this season, I am really proud of the boys.

“They have dug deep, even with us down to 18 fit players, and the win at Leigh in our final game showed what a tight knit bunch we are.

“Austin has been 18th man for the last two games and he is a natural replacement for Craven.

“In all the years he has been here, Austin has never been involved in the finals at this level, so it will be great to be able to give him a game.

“Lucas Walshaw wasn’t far away from playing last week, while Rob Spicer needs a scan but has put his hand up and says he will play if needed, which shows the kind of spirit we have here.

“Whatever squad we put out, I’m sure they will all give 100 per cent and now we have made it to the play-offs anything can happen. It would be great if we could continue the run.”
