A Roberttown farmer’s wife was offering a reward for information on who shot one of her peacocks.

Dorothy Firth, of Pogg Myres Farm, claimed her peacock was the victim of cruel attacks by thugs.

She said: “Local residents have been persecuting it. There were 25 big lads stoning it and it flew away.”
