United beat the rain and Cartworth

HECKMONDWIKE and Carlinghow United B found one of the rare dry spots in Yorkshire last Saturday to register the first win of the Huddersfield Central League season.

They travelled to Cartworth Moor in Section D and gained a seven-wicket win.

Andy Pickett claimed a fine haul of 4-36 to help reduce Cartworth to just 93 all out.

In reply Heckmondwike and Carlinghow reached 96-3 thanks largely to contributions of 28 by Andrew Crowther and 33 by Mohammed Shahban.
