Some of the nation’s best-loved musicals will be performed when a theatre group returns with the latest in a popular series.
Members of Dewsbury Collegians will sing hits from a host of West End and Broadway classics when they present The Best of Now That’s What I Call Musicals later this month.
The latest production is the fifth in a series of annual shows celebrating musical theatre, which the group began back in 2009.
Members of the group will perform their favourite songs from shows including Miss Saigon, Phantom of the Opera, Billy Elliott, Grease, Les Miserables, Hairspray and Rent.
Audiences at St Paul’s Church Hall in Hanging Heaton can also look forward to a tasty supper, which is included in the ticket price.
The show will be performed on October 31 and November 1 and 2.
Doors open at 7pm with the first performers taking to the sage at 7.30pm.
Tickets cost £10 and are available from Gayna Goalby on 01924 456211 or 07730 779170.
Meanwhile, tickets are also on sale for the Collegians’ annual pantomime.
The group will present family favourite Cinderella at Dewsbury Town Hall.
Performances will take place from Tuesday January 14 until Saturday January 18 at 7.15pm, with a Saturday matinee at 2pm.
Tickets are available from Marion Kenyon on 0192 492742, the town hall on 01924 324501 or online at www.kirklees.gov.uk/townhalls
Stalls tickets cost £8 (concessions £6) and balcony tickets cost £8.50. And to reward those who book early, the group is offering opening night tickets in the stalls for just £5. Discounts are also available for group bookings.
