A hair-raising tale for theatre’s Christmas

The story of Rapunzel has inspired this year’s pantomime by Lawrence Batley Theatre.

The show, which opens on Monday, has been adapted from the well-loved tale by Olivier award-winning writer Mike Kenny.

Director Wendy Harris said: “Mike Kenny is master at retaining the key elements of the original story but giving it a twist that helps it relate to an audience today.”

The theatre has teamed up with Huddersfield Town Football Club to offer a day out for a family of up to five on Saturday December 14. The day starts with a performance of Rapunzel at 11am; by lunch at the theatre’s Queenie’s Coffee Shop, then tickets for Huddersfield Town Vs Reading.
