Pride at Oakwell

THE classic tale of Pride and Prejudice will be brought to life in the great outdoors next week.

Chapterhouse Theatre Company, renowned for taking traditional stage performances outside, will present Jane Austen’s famous love story in the gardens of Oakwell Hall Country Park in Birstall next Thursday.

In the fresh summer air, the company will take a step back in time and tell the tale of Elizabeth Bennet as her mother tries determinedly to pair her off with the detestable Mr Collins. All this, of course, just as Elizabeth meets the rude and abrupt Mr Darcy.
