The play has already had the Hollywood treatment, yet the Heckmondwike Players could give Helen Mirren and co a run for their money as their good-humoured take on a tale of fame and friendship was most enjoyable.

Christine Shoesmith’s performance as Chris portrayed an interesting moral tale, as she allowed the pitfalls of fame to get in the way of friendship.

The brave ladies of the cast also bared all for the photoshoot scene, to which the audience cheered wildly!

I even heard a female audience member whisper to her partner: “I can’t believe you’re seeing my sister in the nude!”

The play took place at the Heckmondwike Comrade’s Club. Visit www.heckmondwike-players.co.uk.
