Fifteen members of staff from Morses Club and its subsidiary Shelby Finance ran individual routes to raise more than £7,500 for the Sue Ryder Manorlands Hospice.

A team from Morses Club took part in the Keighley 10K in 2018 and 2019, but this year’s event was cancelled due to Coronavirus restrictions.

Instead, participants were encouraged to run or walk their own 10k route.

One Morses Club runner had a particularly poignant reason to take part for the third time.

More than 20 years ago, when he was aged seven, Stephen Jones’ father received care at Manorlands Hospice.

Stephen said: “Not only did Manorlands help my dad during his final days, they also provided bereavement counselling for mum and myself.”

Company secretary Dave Belmont said: “From a personal perspective it’s a great cause which desperately needs money – it costs £10,000 a day to run.”
