Film and TV mascots will appear at the event Victoria Function Rooms in Batley, organised by Emma Brook, whose son Alfie, 6, has a life-limiting heart condition.

The fun day will raise funds for Keeping the Beat, an appeal to raise £500,000 towards a new children’s heart theatre at the Leeds General Infirmary.

There will be stalls, face painting, a bouncy castle and rodeo bull at the event, organised by Miss Brook and Rebecca Auty from 11am-3pm at the venue on Stocks Lane.

Youngsters will be able to have pictures taken with characters including Spiderman and the Ninja Turtles.

In August a fun day at Wilton Park in Batley organised by Alfie’s family raised £2,500 for Keeping the beat, which is backed by the Children’s Heart Surgery Fund.
