Ever-popular dance classic Dirty Dancing is coming to West Yorkshire as a stage performance.
A Night of Dirty Dancing will feature all the hits from the film when it visits the Theatre Royal Wakefield next month.
Producer Michael Taylor said: “Dirty Dancing boasted the greatest movie soundtrack of all time. All these hits are superbly performed in this fast-moving, slickly-choreographed theatrical treat.
“Revel in the moments you loved, the memories you made and the music that’s resonated throughout the years.
“Prepare for a night of dirty dancing with the brand-new sensational, inspirational, ‘aspirational’ box office smash of the year.
“Our sensational production brings all the hits to life, lavishly, live on stage.”
The film produced a number one single, sold 42 million albums worldwide and was the first video release to sell a million copies.
The production will star Katie Leigh and Darius J James in the roles made famous by Jennifer Grey and Patrick Swayze.
Audiences can expect fresh versions of She’s Like the Wind, Big Girls Don’t Cry, Hey Baby, Wipeout, Do You Love Me, Be My Baby, Hungry Eyes and the Oscar-winning (I’ve Had) The Time of My Life.
