The ceremony was held at Mirfield Cricket Club in Huddersfield Road and awards were given out by Philip Akroyd and David Sykes from Mirfield Sports Council, the Mayor of Mirfield Coun David Pinder and Paul Cusworth from The Rotary Club.

Speaking about the event at a town council meeting on Tuesday, Coun Pinder said: “There were three people in that room who have all represented Great Britain in the last 12 months, which for a small town, isn’t bad going.”

Mirfield Sports Council has four meetings each year and is always on the lookout for new committee members.
