Batley church to hold vigil for WWI fallen

A church in Brownhill will hold a vigil on the centenary of the first day of WWI to remember the area’s fallen.

St Saviour’s Church, in Brookroyd Lane, will be open for prayer and reflection between 12pm-2pm.

Seventy three men from the area died in the 1914-1918 conflict, for whom a memorial plaque was unveiled in the church in 1920.
