BREAKING NEWS: Girl, 12, attacked in attempted phone robbery in Mirfield

A 12-YEAR-OLD girl was kicked in the ribs when a man tried to steal a mobile phone from her.

At around 8am on Wednesday (March 30), the girl was walking along a snicket behind the Yorkshire Pudding pub in Dunbottle Lane, Mirfield.

A man grabbed her and demanded her mobile phone, but she said she didn’t have one.

The suspect pushed her to the floor, kicked her in the ribs and ran away empty handed. The girl was left with minor bruising.

The attacker is described as a mixed-race man in his early 20s, around 5ft 7in tall with a slim build.

He was unshaven and was wearing a dark blue hooded top, grey jogging bottoms and white Nike trainers with a black trim.
