TRADE MISSION Flexitallic's Paul Welsford is heading to Singapore.

A young engineer has been sent halfway around the world too boost trade for a Cleckheaton firm.

Paul Welsford is the new regional sales manager in Singapore for gasket manufacturer Flexitallic, which hopes to expand in the South East Asian market.

The company has been exporting to Singapore for more than a decade via an agreement with an Singapore-based distributor.

Paul’s new role will see him develop further trade relationships and raise awareness of Flexitallic’s products and services.

He will also provide specialist training to engineers and technicians as part of Flexitallic’s Academy of Joint Integrity.

Paul, of Morley, said: “This is a fantastic opportunity to work in one of the most dynamic industrial markets in the world.

“Singapore has thriving oil and gas and chemical industries, which are sectors in which Flexitallic is internationally recognised.

“Our Singapore partner distributors have enabled local companies to access our range of gaskets. This distributor relationship is essential in helping end-users specify the best products on the market.

“My presence will add value to these relationships, particularly in terms of supporting the skills development and safety practices of local engineers.

“In the past, we’ve had several enquiries through the Academy of Joint Integrity for training in Singapore.

“Being based in-country will allow us to fully realise these opportunities to work closely with companies to help develop their safety competencies.”
