MIRFIELD'S air and army cadets showed their respect for those who have fought for our country at a commemorative parade on Sunday.
Cadets Ashleigh Craig and Debra Shillito, from the Army Cadet Force, and Corporal Ben Thompson, Cadet Blake Patel and Cadet Andrew Robinson, from the Air Training Corps, carried their regimental flags and led the joint parade, which is held every year in the grounds of the Old Colonial Club, Dunbottle Lane.
A memorial stone is set within a garden of remembrance at the club.
Organisers Barry Fretwell, president of the Mirfield branch of the Royal British Legion, and Tim Wood, ex-RAF and owner of the club, laid wreaths in honour of their forces together with wreaths laid in honour of the War Widows and the combined British forces.
Mr Wood said he was extremely pleased with the response from all the cadets in showing such respect.
