Children’s Hospice gets the Royal treatment!

One of the chosen charities for this year’s Reporter Series fund was given a Royal helping hand this afternoon.

HRH Princess Beatrice of York officially opened the Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice today.

The princess, who is fifth in line to the throne, visited the hospice, which supports more than 50 children and families with life limiting conditions in West Yorkshire, and was given a tour of the facilities.

In a speech to captivated onlookers, she said: “To meet some of the families, and to know some of the security they feel knowing they have the right teams and the right people working with them every day so that your children, no matter what their condition, can have the best chance.

“To have a chance to be a family, and to have a chance to be a mum: that is the most important thing.”
