Residents at a Dewsbury care home had a visitor all the way from the cobbles of Coronation Street.

Actor Alan Halsall visited Ashworth Grange care home in Eightlands for the second time on Saturday, when residents enjoyed a Coronation Street-themed morning. As well as a raffle to win signed Corrie goodies, Mr Halsall, who plays street mechanic Tyrone Dobbs, mingled with residents, signed autographs and posed for photographs.

He said: “I am delighted to visit Ashworth Grange again to see all their residents and relatives. The home provides a valuable service to the local community so it was an absolute pleasure for me to be part of it, and to meet the residents and staff who work there.”
