Dewsbury and District Hospital service change feedback to be made public

A public consultation on radical plans for local hospital services has closed.

The three month Meeting the Challenge consultation asked people in North Kirklees for their views on service changes at hospitals in Dewsbury, Wakefield and Pontefract.

An independent organisation will publish a report on the responses later this month.

The plans drawn up by the Mid Yorkshire Hospitals Trust include downgrading Dewsbury A&E.

North Kirklees Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) chairman Dr David Kelly thanked everyone who had taken part.

He said: “We will take full account of all the feedback we have received.”

Recommendations will presented to the North Kirklees and Wakefield CCGs during public meetings on July 25.
