Do you know someone who's a dead ringer for a celebrity?

Famous lookalikes are a popular topic for pub conversations - and now a Mirfield local has joined a nationwide competition to find the best '˜famous faces'.

The Ship Inn on Steanard Lane is one of a number of UK pubs offering a family holiday worth £1,000 to four uncanny celebrity lookalikes.

The pub’s owners, brewery Greene King’s Hungry Horse chain, have also teamed up with a talent agency to guarantee the winners a spot on their books and the chance to make public appearances as a doppelganger.

The agency, Lookalikes, even supplied spookily similar likenesses for David and Victoria Beckham, Daniel Craig and the Queen to launch the Mirfield contest.

The Ship Inn’s general manager Nicki Bush is keen for a Mirfield resident to be among the winners.

“We enlisted the help of some very recognisable British faces to launch our competition and celebrate our new Best of British festival menu,” she said.

“If you think you’re a dead ringer for a British celebrity and you could give our A-list line-up a run for their money then we want to hear from you. It would be great to see a Mirfield resident take home the holiday and the chance of becoming the UK’s next top lookalike artist!”

Budding lookalikes must resemble a British star and you can nominate yourself or someone you know by posting a photo to the Hungry Horse Lookalikes page on Facebook before April 18.
