Here’s your chance to quiz hospital bosses about the options they’re looking at, why changes need to be made, and what any changes could mean for local people.

Send us your questions about the options being looked at and we’ll put as many as possible to Mid Yorkshire Hospitals Trust interim chief executive.

Under the first option being looked at, some specialist services would be centralised at Pinderfields Hospital in Wakefield, and the way surgery is offered at Dewsbury, Wakefield and Pontefract would change.

Dewsbury would keep its full A&E service with 24-hour consultant-led care and a children’s assessment unit.

Under the second option, all emergency and complex services would be moved to Pinderfields. This would leave Dewsbury with an urgent care centre for minor injuries and illness instead of a full A&E department.

Both options would see Dewsbury lose its children’s inpatient service, consultant-maternity service and special care baby unit. They also would mean some changes to the type of elective surgery offered and the medical wards based at Dewsbury.
