A driver had to be cut free from a vehicle after smashing into a bus stop this morning (Saturday) in Batley.
Two men, aged in their 30’s, were travelling down Carlinghow Lane, when they lost control of their Vauxhall Corsa and collided with a bus stop.
Fire crews from Batley and Dewsbury were called to the scene at 6.30am.
When they arrived the passenger had freed himself but firefighters had to cut off the roof and use a long board stretcher to free the driver.
He was treated by paramedics at the scene before being taken to hospital.
Crews spent 30 minutes at the scene securing the vehicle as the cause of the accident was investigated by police.
