Final preparations are being made for a key date in the real ale lover’s calendar at next weekend’s Mirfield Beer Festival.
Now in its third year the festival, organised by Mirfield Round Table, will run over three days next weekend and offer 20 real ales and a selection of ciders.
Festival committee member Reuben Baker said: “Our aim is to raise as much money as possible for a number of good causes and local charities by creating a beer paradise in Mirfield.
“It’s very exciting that we can create such an enjoyable atmosphere and bring the community together for a wonderful social event.”
The festival, at Mirfield Cricket Club, will host live music on the Friday and Saturday evenings, as well as live cricket during the day.
This year’s festival includes beers from a range of breweries including Theakston, Robinson’s Brewery, Golcar Brewery, Ossett Brewery and Rat Brewery.
During the last year events by Mirfield Round Table have supported such charities and organisations as Macmillan Cancer Support, Mirfield Community Centre, Heavy Woollen District Scout Group and the Salvation Army.
The festival will run Friday July 10, 5pm-11pm, Saturday July 11, noon-11pm and Sunday July 12, noon-6pm at Mirfield Cricket Club in Huddersfield Road. Visit www.mirfieldbeerfestival.co.uk for more information.
