Four injured and roads closed after police car crash
The accident happened shortly after 3am which sent the police car - a silver BMW – into the wall of a residential hostel in Scott Lane, injuring a police officer and a special constable.
Both were freed from the vehicle by fire crews using cutting equipmentand taken to Leeds General Infirmary for treatment.

Hide AdA 25-year-old Bradford man who was a passenger in the Audi was taken to Bradford Royal Infirmary with chest injuries. The driver, a 23-year-old Bradford man who was found nearby, was taken to Pinderfields Hospital with serious injuries.
None are said to be life-threatening.
A police spokesman said: “The Audi had failed to stop in Scholes and, while in Cleckheaton, was in collision with an unmarked police car which was searching the area for it at the time. The two cars had not been in contact before the crash took place.”
Police have closed off Scott Lane and Northgate while they carry out their investigations.
Officers are still at the scene and are waiting for structural engineers to examine the building.
