Fundraisers will walk barefoot over hot coals to raise money for a charity for disabled people.

A fire walk will be held at the Batley Bulldogs’ Fox’s Biscuits Stadium on Saturday from 7pm in aid of The Howlands Centre.

The rugby league club stepped in to host the event after another venue had double booked.

Bulldogs supporters and members of the charity will take part in the fire walk.

Howlands manager Deborah Hall said: “We are grateful to the club for agreeing to host the event. It will be a great experience.”

There will also be a raffle on the night, which will include a signed St Helens shirt donated by player Alex Walmsley whose father attends the charity.
