Madison Vickers, who attends Fieldhead Academy in Birstall, lost around 12 inches of hair to raise cash for the Little Princess Trust. The youngster watched a video of a three-year-old girl in America cut her hair for the charity, and pledged to do the same.

She had her hair cut at Divine Hair Studio in Birstall last Thursday.

Proud mum Claire said: “Like any little girl, she complained about having her hair combed and I asked if she wanted to cut it. She was not sure but changed her mind after watching the video. “It was a big step for her because she is a real girly-girl but we are so proud of her.” Little Princess Trust provides wigs to children who have lost their hair through cancer treatment.

Madison posted her hair off to the charity and set up a JustGiving page, raising more than £200.
