It’s a piece of cake!
IT may seem a half-baked idea, but four intrepid Mirfield aviators will take to the air tomorrow – in a giant wedding cake.
The crackpot quartet hope their 10ft high three-tier cake will help them enjoy the sweet taste of victory in the Red Bull Flugtag, an international contest for human-powered flying machines.
This year’s event takes place at Roundhay Park, Leeds, and will see the team of Jonny Sharp, Kirsty Plowman, Tom Eastwood and Rob Fleming take on 33 rivals – including a banana, a coffin and a wedge of cheese – from across the country.
