MIRFIELD pillow and duvet manufacturer John Cotton increased its warehouse and factory workforce by 30 per cent in the last two months in order to cope with a massive uplift in business.
The Huddersfield Road firm, which was established in 1916 and currently produces over three million duvets and seven million pillows each year, has also increased staff in its sales and production teams so they can meet the increase in demand.
All the new recruits are from the local area and have been split between its manufacturing plant in Mirfield and warehousing unit in Bradford.
The business has grown by 30 per cent in the last 12 months alone and is expected to grow by a further 15 per cent in 2004.
The company will also be investing over 1m in new equipment and machinery to help manage with the rise in demand.
Sales and Marketing Director, Phil Atherton, told the Reporter: "The recent increase we have seen in our employee numbers is a very clear demonstration of our ongoing success.
"The new additions to our team will work hard to fulfil the needs and demands of our customers. We are looking forward to continuing this recruitment drive," he added.
