LETTER: Dewsbury Rams' latest win shows their potential

I took a few hours away from the campaign trail on Sunday afternoon to watch the Dewsbury Rams, and you will gather I am a supporter.

I watch them week in, week out and to be honest they have not played particularly well, even though they have beaten Batley three times this year.

I went to the stadium always hopeful, but we were playing Bradford Bulls and they were fantastic last week, only losing by a point to Hull Kingston Rovers in the best game of the summer bash.

Well I don’t know what Andy Kelly has done but the team was absolutely fantastic.

For the first time in a very long time they actually played like a team.

They were enthusiastic, were talking to each other, backing up and supporting one

another.

Growing in confidence as the game went on I didn’t want this game to end, unlike the Bulls fans many of whom left early.

If you had told me before the game that we would win 38-12 I would have smiled and asked what you were drinking because I would like some!

It just goes to show underdogs do and can win so I am looking forward to the rest of the season.

I know one swallow doesn’t make a summer, but if we play like this and remain injury-free then the future is looking not good but great.
