I am trying to locate exactly where Borough Park, Dewsbury was situated.
It was used as a gaming ground and operated by Mr Solomon Eastwood.
I believe it was in Daw Green somewhere.
In December 1882, a prize fight took place on a Sunday between Thomas Keegan and Michael Hooley with Keegan awarded the prize due to a ‘foul blow’ by Hooley.
The fight was reported at the time.
This predates the purchase of Crow Nest Park in 1893, but where was it?
Mr Keegan is an ancestor of mine and I’d like to know a bit more.
Philip Day, Woodlands Road, Batley
