Lewis is an Arriva angel in the making

Young Lewis Harper regularly puts a smile on the face of others as he catches the Arriva 254 from Dewsbury moor to Heckmondwike every night.

To say thank you for the Dewsbury 10-year-old’s ongoing loyalty, the bus company invited Lewis and his mum on a surprise tour of the depot and his favourite 268 bus, where gifts were presented by general manager, Mark Fenwick.

Nigel Featham, regional managing director for Arriva Yorkshire said: “Everyone at Arriva Yorkshire recognises the kindness of this young boy and his friendship with the Heckmondwike depot team.

“We want to thank him for being such a loyal customer, and what better way to do this than by presenting him with his very own Arriva model bus along with a free week’s travel for two so he can continue to explore Yorkshire on our Arriva buses!”

Lee Watson, relief inspector at Heckmondwike said: “Lewis is the depot’s ray of sunshine! He is loved by everyone and we always look forward to his visits!”

Sarah Harper, Lewis’s mother, added: “Thank you to everyone at Arriva. You made Lewis’s day and we are so grateful for everything you have done for us; Lewis won’t stop smiling about it! We can’t wait to hang our new ‘Lewis the bus driver’ picture up at home for everyone to see!”
