CARE home residents took a trip down memory lane to mark a national awareness day.
People at Fieldhead Park Nursing Home learnt about its history in celebration of Dignity Action Day, which highlights the importance of maintaining dignity for people living in care.
The day was also part of a history project the home is doing about the building itself, which was completed in 1835 for a doctor called John Kitson.
They had a memorabilia table and staff dressed up in period costumes.
Residents enjoyed a song and dance with entertainer Karen Louise.
Activities co-ordinator Elaine Wilson said during the event last Friday people came in to look round the home. She said: “We have quite a few original features like the fireplaces, stained glass windows and the servants’ bells.” She thanked everyone who researched the history of the building.
