He was also handed a Sexual Harm Prevention Order and told to sign the Sex Offenders Register for five years.

Bordiugovas, 23, appeared in the dock accompanied by a Lithuanian interpreter as the court heard that a total of 238 illegal images and movies were found downloaded on his laptop after it was seized by police.

During interviews with officers, Bordiugovas initially offered no comment to questions but later tried to claim computer hackers were responsible for the images.

He later admitted the charges at Kirklees Magistrates Court.

The court was told that eight of the images and 58 of the movies fell into Category A - the most serious type - and that the material featured children between the ages of two and 13.

Sentencing him, His Honour Judge Neil Clark said: “One can’t ignore that these children were suffering physically and psychologically as a result of what was happening to them.

“That harm would have been made significantly worse if they had known that people have enjoyed putting images of their misery in the public domain and others such as you were looking at them.

“You therefore share responsibility for the pyschological misery they suffered.

“A relatively short custodial sentence would be punishment for you, but it would have no input on your situation. But you should be in no doubt that if you break this order I will send you to prison.”

Bordiugovas must attend high-level rehabilitation sessions over the course of the next three years.
